Alert! there are spoilers in this post!

For a book published in 1912. I kinda think it might be okay.

I just re-read Daddy Long-Legs, and it’s not as creepy as I thought, except for the part where she keeps addressing him as “Daddy” even after she knows who he is, and that he lets her call him Daddy in letters for three years before that. That’s kinda creepy.

But still, what is with the “girl meet guardian, girl and guardian fall in love, girl marries guardian” trope? Especially when the guardian is over a decade older—which, at the age when girls need guardians, is a big difference.
