There’s this thing called a Page Break in MS Word. It prevents you from having to hit enter umpteen times to start a works cited page, or a title page, or—heaven forbid—the next page of text when you tried to fake footnotes by typing them yourself at the “bottom” of a page instead of letting Word handle the placement and numbering.

Technical Logistics: if your MS Word has File, Edit, etc menus, look under Insert | Break | Page Break. In Word 2007, click on the Page Layout tab, then on Breaks, and then select a plain “Page” break.
